Frequently asked questions
Concise answers about We Secure Data security, deployment, pricing, and verification.
Is We Secure Data cloud storage?
No. We Secure Data is much more than cloud storage.
Secure Vaults let your organisation securely store, organise and manage any type of file, while built-in secure messaging, secure file transfer, client-side encryption, customer-controlled keys and cryptographic provenance ensure every sensitive document can be securely shared, verified and trusted throughout its lifecycle.
Unlike traditional cloud storage, We Secure Data combines secure communication, secure storage and independently verifiable provenance in a single platform running inside your own cloud environment.
How do File Drop Pages work?
File Drop Pages let people outside your organisation send messages and files into your secure inbox without emailing attachments or using public file-sharing links. External senders do not need full Secure Vault access, and submissions can be stored and managed in Secure Vaults.
Can We Secure Data read our files?
We Secure Data encrypts data client-side before upload and is designed for zero vendor key access to the keys required to decrypt customer data.
Where does WSData run?
WSData is designed to run inside your own cloud project, with your organisation retaining control of infrastructure and keys.
Who controls the keys?
The customer controls the key management boundary. We Secure Data is positioned for customer-controlled KMS and HSM-ready environments.
Is this SaaS?
We Secure Data provides the secure application layer and deployment process, but the BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud) model is deliberately different from conventional vendor-hosted SaaS storage.
What makes WSData different from secure email or file-sharing tools?
WSData combines secure messaging, secure file transfer, client-side encryption, customer-controlled infrastructure, customer-controlled keys and cryptographic provenance in one platform.
What happens if We Secure Data is compromised?
The architecture is designed to avoid We Secure Data becoming a central holder of readable customer data. A vendor compromise should not expose a shared store of plaintext customer files, though endpoint security and identity controls still matter.
Can documents be verified offline?
Yes. Provenance verification is designed so document origin, sender identity evidence, and tamper status can be checked independently, including offline workflows.
Why is there a Pilot plan?
The Pilot plan gives teams a lower-friction way to prove WSData internally before committing to a wider rollout. If you upgrade within 12 months, the pilot fee is credited against your first full annual plan.
Is pricing per user?
No. WSData is priced per organisation. Platform, Assisted Launch and Enterprise include unlimited internal users.
Are cloud costs included?
No. Your cloud provider bills infrastructure usage directly. For normal secure messaging and file-transfer usage, these costs are usually modest compared with the annual licence.
How hard is deployment?
Platform is intended for capable IT or security teams. Assisted Launch adds guided deployment, initial configuration support, branding and domain setup, admin onboarding and launch support.
Can we use our own domain and branding?
Yes. We Secure Data is designed to support customer domain, logo, branding, storage, access policy, and key management choices.
Is We Secure Data suitable for regulated industries?
We Secure Data is designed for organisations with high confidentiality, integrity, and governance requirements. It can support regulated environments, but formal certification claims should be assessed against your specific deployment and controls.
